Indigenous Archaeology

Discover how archaeology and the memory of the land shed light on relationships between peoples. Inspired by the legacy of Christine Zachary-Deom, this talk explores dialogue, peace, and reconciliation through the history of Indigenous societies, past and present.

Katsi’tsahén:te Cross-Delisle is a Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) archaeologist from Kahnawà:ke. Specializing in the decolonization of archaeology, she advocates for Indigenous sovereignty and for the recognition, promotion, and transmission of First Nations knowledge and cultural heritage.

Jennifer Bracewell has worked as an archaeologist with Indigenous communities across Quebec for over 20 years. She is the coordinator of the Onkwehón:we Project and holds a PhD from McGill University.
